Prof. Aly El Sheikha is a specialist in Molecular Biology, Traceability and Food Safety; visiting professor at the University of Ottawa (uOttawa) and full professor at Jiangxi Agricultural University (JXAU), with 23 years of experience as Deputy Leader, Coordinator, and Researcher in several international projects (e.g., Canadian Project “NSERC-CRD-474638-14”; European Projects “EDES”, “FSP 2006-43”, Innovkar “No. INCO-CT-032037”, Trace and HEEPF “Higher Education Enhancement Project Fund” 2004-2006). Professor Aly El Sheikha got his PhD in "Biotechnology-Microbiology" at University Montpellier 2, France in 2010 and two post-docs [CIRAD, France (2011); Halal Products Research Institute, Malaysia (2012-2013)].
Prof. El Sheikha invented a novel molecular diagnostic method for detecting and identifying pathogenic Candida species which opens up new avenues such as the differentiation between drug-resistant and drug-sensitive strains of infectious fungi within the same species (US Patent No. US 62/964,218: Pending); developed molecular techniques for ensuring compliance with the Food and Drugs Act and Regulations and other relevant food legislation; participated in the Construction of seven research laboratories in different disciplines in China, France, and Benin; and was granted trophy of Agriculture Faculty, UPM, Malaysia.
With more than 90 publications in international reviews (e.g., Books, Chapters, Articles, etc.) with a total [Accumulated Impact Factor: 167.221; Accumulated Citations: 1713; h-index: 26]. Prof. Yizhi Song, Chinese Academy of Sciences
